Get to know us

Our journey began in 2019 when two families converged on a park, sparking a movement that would change the way we connect. As the years went by, we'd return to the park, reigniting the magic. The phrase 'Back to the Park' was born, and it resonated deeply with us - many of our founders were teens in the 80s, and the nostalgic reference to the iconic 'Back to the Future' films was an instant hit. Since then, we've built our gatherings around the themes of adventure, time travel, and community, creating unforgettable experiences that transport families through time and bring them closer together. What started as a small gathering has grown into a thriving movement, with last year's event bringing together over 20 families - a testament to the power of shared experiences and the joy of community.

Team Fox

After four incredible years of bringing families together through our 'Back to the Park' gatherings, we're thrilled to announce that we've partnered with the Michael J. Fox Foundation, amplifying our mission to make a difference. As we continue to create unforgettable experiences that spark joy, laughter, and adventure, we're also joining forces to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease research and support those affected by it. This partnership is a dream come true for our community, and we're honored to be part of the foundation's efforts to accelerate research and improve the lives of people living with Parkinson's. By combining our passion for community-building with the foundation's expertise, we aim to make a meaningful impact and inspire others to join us in the fight against Parkinson's disease. A donation bucket will be available if you'd like to contribute to the Michael J. Fox Foundation; all collected funds will be sent directly to support their efforts.

The 80s kids

Kids in the 80s had a blast with activities like playing outside till streetlights turned on, riding bikes, skateboards, or roller skates, and spending hours on cassette tapes and mixtapes. Arcades were a major hub for classic video games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, while board games like Monopoly and Clue, and card games like Uno and Slapjack, were staples of sleepovers and family nights. Watching music videos on MTV was a highlight, and reading books, comic books, or Nintendo Power magazine fueled imaginations. It's worth noting that being outdoors and engaging in physical activities played a significant role in their development, fostering independence, problem-solving skills, and social interaction. In contrast, kids today are immersed in a different world, where screens dominate their free time.

The Michael J Fox Foundation

The Michael J. Fox Foundation exists for one reason: to find a cure for Parkinson's disease. We operate with focus and determination in everything we do. We won't stop until a cure is found. We're on it.

Our mission

We're on a mission to bring families together in nature, fostering a sense of community and connection that lasts a lifetime. Rather than just hosting events, we want to create unforgettable experiences that combine fun, food, and adventure. Our goal is to discover new parks and match families with the perfect outdoor activities that fit their interests, ages, and preferences, exploring a different park each year. We aim to spark a love for nature and build lasting friendships among our community, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Our vision

We're driven by a simple yet powerful vision: to bring families together to share in the joy of good food, outdoor adventure, and playful connection. We believe that when families gather to savor each other's special dishes, get their kids outdoors to play amazing games, and make new friends, something truly special happens. These moments of connection and community forge bonds that last a lifetime, creating a ripple effect of love, laughter, and adventure that echoes far beyond our gatherings.
